The SIL15C is a new high density open frame non-isolated converter series for space-sensitive applications. Each model has a wide input range (4.5 Vdc to 5.5 Vdc or 10.2 Vdc to 13.8 Vdc) and offer a wide 0.9 Vdc to 3.3 V/5 V output voltage range with a 15 A load. An external resistor adjusts the output voltage from its pre-set value of 0.9 V to any value up to the maximum allowed value for that model. Typical efficiencies are 89% for the 5 V input version and 91% for the 12 V input version.

The NFS80 series is a 80 W universal input ac-dc power supply on a 7 x 4.25 inch card. The NFS80 series has two quad output models with a very high peak capability on the auxiliary outputs for drive and motor applications. The NFS80 provides 80 W of output power with free air convection cooling which can be boosted to 110 W with 20 CFM of forced air. Standard features include overvoltage and short-circuit protection.

A block diagram is shown in Figure 1. Extremely high efficiency power conversion is achieved through the use of a unique, fixed frequency, voltage-mode controlled, interleaved, half-bridge topology. Power is transferred magnetically across the isolation barrier via isolating power transformers. In all models, the secondary side rectification stage consists of synchronous rectifiers controlled by proprietary circuitry to optimize the timing which is critical for high efficiency power conversion.

A block diagram of the SMT15E converter is shown in Figure 1. Extremely high efficiency power conversion is achieved through the use of synchronous rectification techniques. The POL topology is a non-isolated three terminal syncronous buck converter. The control of the syncronous rectifiers are optimised for high efficiency power conversion.

The AFS4000 and AFS6000 power shelves are designed to house Artesyn standard AFE2000 series front-end power supplies. The shelves mount into standard 19 inch racks.
